        <pre>Hi Joe, the diagnostic appears to be correct. You are linking in -pie or
-shared mode. It is incorrect to reference a symbol relative to the image base
from a read-only section. The address of that symbol can vary at runtime (due
to ASLR).

I asked whether we can have R_MIPS_PC64. One comment is that
<a href="https://sourceware.org/pipermail/binutils/2020-February/110231.html">https://sourceware.org/pipermail/binutils/2020-February/110231.html</a> MIPS does
not need it. I guess that can still cause problems to relocation scanning,
though. If you are interested at MIPS support, maybe you can provide more
opinions?</pre>
