        <pre>I don't know why you're being overly aggressive Dick, but MSVC 2017 supports U8
character literals, and it was clearly an oversight in the C documentation
considering how they try to remain compatible with C++, and C++ supports it.

it really isn't an extension, it's not being anal about the standard.</pre>
