C code that reproduces the problem
When building the attached file with:
scan-build --status-bugs clang -I../include itoa.c -c -o itoa.o
The tool runs for a very long (possibly infinite?) amount of time. I suspect
that it has to do with the "..." extension used in the case statements. The
process continues running after it has consumed all system memory and swap.</pre>
