Thanks for the investigation. Your guess turns out to be correct
based on a bunch more builds:
A) On another PC I've not had any replications despite
trying.
but. . .
B) On the one from the report I've had rare failures
in random places. (Most from scratch buildworld
buildkernel sequences complete.)
I've adjusted the configuration that I found the
new-to-me PC was in. I'll see if I get any more
issues over time (many builds).
So I'll not be reporting such crashes based on this
new-to-me PC until it has had no examples for a
significant number of builds (if it ever does).
Sorry for the noise. Preliminary information
suggested no problems so I did not go in that
direction.</pre>
