i just lost hours because my NSDocument subclass did override "close" without
calling super. the documentation does not indicate this has to happen but in
practice any NSDocument application that overrides "close" without calling
super just hangs on exit.
patch attached.
i've also filed a report at apple about missing documentation</pre>
