            Bug ID: 39991
           Summary: Memory leaks detected when running check-clangd with
                    ASan
           Product: clang-tools-extra
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P
         Component: clangd
          Assignee: unassignedclangbugs at nondot.org
          Reporter: david.stenberg at ericsson.com
                CC: llvm-bugs at lists.llvm.org

Running check-clangd with ASan leads to the following tests failing due to
indirect memory leaks:

  Failing Tests (5):
      Extra Tools Unit Tests ::
clangd/./ClangdTests/ClangdUnitTest.GetBeginningOfIdentifier
      Extra Tools Unit Tests :: clangd/./ClangdTests/FindReferences.WithinAST
      Extra Tools Unit Tests :: clangd/./ClangdTests/GoToDefinition.All
      Extra Tools Unit Tests :: clangd/./ClangdTests/Hover.All
      Extra Tools Unit Tests :: clangd/./ClangdTests/SymbolInfoTests.All

I built, and ran the test, using:

  cmake -G Ninja -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=RelWithDebInfo \
    -DLLVM_ENABLE_ASSERTIONS=ON \
    -DLLVM_USE_LINKER=gold \
    -DLLVM_USE_SANITIZER=Address \
    ${LLVM_DIR}

  ninja -C build-sana check-clangd

I have seen this a Ubuntu 16.04.5 machine using clang 6.0 installed from apt,
and on a Ubuntu 14.04.5 machine with a custom built clang 5.0 installation.

A bisect shows that the leaks started showing with the following commit:

  r346488 | sammccall | 2018-11-09 13:56:49 +0100 (fre, 09 nov 2018) | 17 lines
  [clangd] Make TestTU build with preamble, and fix the fallout.
