Can you either find or create a wrapper for this?

  bool StripPrefix(StringRef Prefix, StringRef& S) {
    if (S.startwith(Prefix)) {
      S = S.substr(Prefix.size());
      return true;
    }
    return false;
  }

Which is a huge readability boost and DRY.
