That looks pretty bizarre. I’m assuming that means the  CrashRecoveryContext (this at the location you’re showing) is null? Maybe I’m reading the code wrong, but if the context is null, I would expect cleanup to be null as well and we would hit the early return.

Here, we are returning what will be in “cleanup”, and context must be non-null.
